Himachal Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu will lay the foundation stone of Himachal Niketan in Delhi today. The state government is going to construct a 5-storey building of Himachal Niketan in Dwarka, Delhi. Its purpose is to provide accommodation facilities to the students and common people studying in the capital of the country.
PWD has prepared the blueprint of this building to be constructed at a cost of 18.70 crores. The Chief Minister has instructed the PWD to construct Himachal Bhawan within 2 years. A total of 81 rooms are to be constructed in Himachal Niketan, including 2 VVIP sets, 40 general rooms.
Of these, 40 rooms will be made for the students and the rest for the people of the state. After the foundation stone is laid today, the construction work will start. Parking for 53 vehicles and 87 two-wheelers will be made on the ground floor of this building.
CM Sukhu’s tour schedule
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Sukhu will stay in Delhi today and tomorrow only. After laying the foundation stone of Himachal Niketan in Delhi, he can meet the party high command and some ministers of the Government of India. At present, the program of CM is fixed for 2 days. The information is that the Chief Minister may also go to Tripura from Delhi, as the party high command has made Sukhu the star campaigner for the Tripura elections.

During the Delhi tour, the Chief Minister can also discuss with the party high command about cabinet expansion and postings in boards and corporations.
