Shraddha Walker Murder Case: On May 18, 2022, Aftab Amin Poonawala, accused in the Shraddha murder case, ordered food for two people in the afternoon and alone at night from the food delivery app (Zomato). Which meant that his live-in partner Shraddha had died by noon that day. Delhi Police has said in its charge sheet that Aftab, arrested on charges of murdering Shraddha, had ordered chicken rolls on the night of May 18, the day of the murder.
Police said that Aftab had ordered lunch for two people on the same day. The police have said in the charge sheet that he ordered only one chicken roll at night. This clearly means that Shraddha was alive at lunch time on May 18, while she was dead by night. Because only one man’s food was ordered for dinner. Aftab Poonawala has confessed to the murder. What are the disclosures in the charge sheet?
The police revealed in the charge sheet that an argument started between Aftab and Shraddha allegedly over some issue. After which Poonawalla strangled Shraddha to death. Poonawalla cut Shraddha’s body into 35 pieces before disposing of her body in Chhatarpur forest over the next few days. He used a saw, three knives and a hammer to cut the body. He also used a blow court to mutilate her face and head. Aftab kept the severed body parts in the fridge and shifted them to the kitchen cabinet.
Reason for sour relationship
The charge sheet states that the main reason for frequent fights between Shraddha and Aftab was Aftab’s friendship with many women from Delhi to Dubai. According to the 6,629-page charge sheet, soon after Shraddha’s murder, the accused again came in contact with several women through the dating app Bumble. Their relationship soured when Poonawalla was talking to other women on the app. The charge sheet states that Poonawalla’s motive was to get rid of Shraddha as she fought and abused him. The final report states that Poonawalla had kept Shraddha’s body parts in the refrigerator to prevent them from smelling and decomposing.
