After the Lucknow Hotel Levana fire, the Fire Service Department is now pulling back on giving No Objection Certificate (NOC). The Directorate of Fire Services has also sent a proposal for this to the government.

NOC is considered to be the biggest reason for corruption in the construction of buildings. Hotel Levana was also given NOC without meeting the standard. Because of this, the fire service department is being directly responsible for the four deaths in the incident. After these incidents, the headquarters is now trying to stop the process of giving NOC in order to remove the stain on the department every time.

Will give fitness report only on demand of authority

DIG Fire Service Akash Kulhari said that in the proposal, instead of NOC, it has been said to give fitness report. He told that the most important role in the construction of the building is that of the Development Authority. From passing the map to giving the completion certificate, it is the responsibility of the authority. Therefore it has been proposed that the authority should ask for the fitness of any building from the Fire Service Department. After inspecting the building, the fire service officers check the fire safety equipment and other standards and issue a fitness certificate. Based on this, the authority itself should issue NOC.

The system of single window system has already been made

In order to prevent corruption under the guise of NOC, a single window system system has already been made. In this provision was made that along with the map the building owner would also apply for NOC in the authority. But the fire service officials did not allow this arrangement to be implemented. However, this rule came into force for industrial buildings and the monitoring of NOC went in the hands of Udyog Bandhu Department. But the fire department is giving NOC directly to residential and other commercial buildings. Now efforts are being made to change this system once again.
