Wall demolished for possession in Kapurthala.
In Punjab’s Kapurthala town, an attempt was made by some people, including the restaurant owner, on the adjoining land behind a market complex near the old Sabzi Mandi on the late night of 15 September. The police have now registered a case against 7 named and 10-15 unknown people in the city police station on the complaint of a woman who claims to be the owner of the land. On the other hand, Sanjeev Jain of the accused side met SSP Kapurthala and presented his side. The SSP has ordered to re-investigate the matter.
Complainant woman Chandrakanta Talvad also alleged that the accused tried to destroy the evidence by demolishing the wall of the DRT Metal Works factory and breaking the gate of the factory during the capture attempt. He claims that his family has been living on the said land for the last 75 years.
Chandrakanta Talvad told in the complaint given to the police that there is a property in Sadar Bazar which is in the name of DRT Metal Workers. It is located behind the huge market complex built in the old vegetable market. On the midnight of 15th September at around 12.30 pm, Raman Wadhwa, owner of Sagar Ratna restaurant and 6 others along with 10-15 unidentified youths broke the wall of DRT metal workers with tractor-trolley (PB 09 M 9885). When she went to stop the occupants, the youths started pelting stones. By breaking the wall, an attempt was made to destroy the evidence by breaking the gate of the factory.
The City Police Station has also registered an FIR against 10-15 unidentified people by naming the accused Subhash Chandra Wadhwa, Raman Wadhwa, Parveen Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, Sanjeev Jain, Geetika Jain and Hemlata Wadhwa. So far no accused has been arrested.
