Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman expressed confidence, India will be successful in exiting Global Turmoil


Nirmala Sitharaman On Indian Economy: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has expressed confidence that India will be able to get out of the current global crisis. He said that due to the rapid development of digitization, we will continue to move forward on the path of continuous economic recovery. The Finance Minister is currently visiting the US to attend the annual meeting of the IMF and the World Bank.

The Finance Minister said that India has been able to set a global benchmark in digitization in areas such as digital payments, healthcare, education and regulatory compliance and this is a confidence booster for the economy. The Finance Minister said that due to the steps taken by the government in the last two years, the country’s economy and business are performing better. The Finance Minister said these things during an interactive session on India’s unique digital public goods with the students of Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.

The Finance Minister said that the Indian economy is on its way to recovery. And the government has taken decisions keeping in mind the effect of weakness in demand, exports and the rupee against the US dollar in view of the global economic turmoil. He said, people in India are sure that we will overcome this and will be able to perform. He said that this has become possible only because technology has been used for the good of the public.

The Finance Minister said that small businessmen are now getting loans sitting at home and availability of credit is not an issue. He said that when the economy is trying to come out of the crisis, then these steps are helping to get out of these difficulties.
