It was all so humiliating

He told how the Vice-Chancellor called him and that meeting was attended by many people who were asking him so many derogatory questions which were very difficult to answer. He told that I had posted these stories in August 2021 before joining the university and only his close friends could see his post. The Vice-Chancellor, Father Felix, asked me if my mother had seen these pictures and if she could approve such pictures. Another woman on the board asked me if it was right to post such pictures.

99 crore defamation notice

The former assistant professor said that this matter is of October 2021. But he had lodged a police complaint against unknown persons in January 2022. He had also sent a legal notice to the university on March 1 this year, after which the university in return sent him a defamation notice of Rs 99 crore.

The former assistant professor said that after doing her BA in English formerly at St. Xavier’s, she went to Jadavpur University for an MA and then to a European university for a doctorate. She joined the educational institution at a time when “people were falling ill, people were losing their loved ones” because of Corona, at a time when she wanted to be close to her parents.

She says, “I was happy to finally be assigned a subject that I loved to teach… The students were honest and understanding and the classroom discussions were animated and extremely engaging but this delightful educational journey was soon to be brutally ended. And in a way that still sounds like a bizarre nightmare.”

Allegations made about Instagram photos

He alleged that at the 7 October meeting, he was told that a student’s father had complained after seeing his photographs. After the complaint, I was questioned, mentally tortured and defamed about my personal photographs. In which I had no fault. I was told that these pictures of yours have affected the image of the college. So many questions were especially humiliating and painful for me.”
