Fed up with repeated rape, 14-year-old girl commits suicide, father arrested for sexual abuse


Mumbai crime: A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Vasai East in Palghar district of Mumbai. Where a 14-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself. On Friday, two days after the murder, the police arrested the girl’s father on charges of sexual assault.

Police said that the girl had left behind a suicide note. In which the girl accused her father of sexual abuse, as well as the girl said in that note that her father should be arrested and punished severely, but her mother should be let go because she has to take care of two siblings.

Girl’s friend gave suicide note
Senior Police Inspector Kailash Barve said that the police is probing the motive behind the girl’s drastic step. Although the parents were still in shock, their statements could not be recorded immediately after the incident. Barve said that a suicide note was found on Wednesday which the girl had written in one of her notebooks. The girl’s friend, who lives in the neighboring house, gave this note to the police.

The girl wrote in the suicide note that she was upset due to repeated rape by her father. For this reason he decided to commit suicide. Police said that the girl also wrote that her mother knew about the rape, but she did not say anything to the father. Also, the girl requested the police to arrest her father. The girl wrote in the note that her mother should be released as she has to take care of two siblings.

Dead body found hanging from the roof of the house
According to the police, the girl lived with her parents and two siblings in Valiv, east of Vasai. Fed up with the repeated sexual abuse, she hanged herself on Wednesday. On the day of the incident, the girl’s mother had gone to the market and when she returned home, she was found hanging from the ceiling.

Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Sexual Offenses Act, 2012. Police said that the body has been sent to the government hospital for postmortem and the matter is being investigated.
