Farmers preparing for demonstration against the central government.
The farmers of Punjab have been enraged by the notification issued by the Central Government on Monday to give electricity distribution work in the country to private hands. He has once again threatened to agitate. Farmers’ organizations will burn an effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi across Punjab on Wednesday against this decision. He has demanded the Central Government to withdraw this notification.
Sarwan Singh Pandher, leader of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee in Amritsar, said that on Monday night, the central government issued a notification to give electricity distribution to private hands. This is in a way a matter of jurisdiction of the state government and the central government is interfering in it.
Pandher told that during the agitation against the farming laws, the farmers had opposed the Electricity Amendment Act. If the central government is bringing it in a new form. He announced a demonstration across the state against this decision of the central government.
Appeal to the state government to pass the resolution
Farmer leader Pandher said that the central government is trying to snatch the interests of the state which is wrong. He demanded the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to pass a resolution against it in the assembly. He said that if the central government does not withdraw the notification, the farmers will be forced to intensify their struggle.
