In this movement, BKU leader Rakesh Tikait was seen in saffron turban.

Farmer leaders alleged that the government was reneging on the promises of agreements after the Delhi agitation and violence in Tikunia. This movement is being seen as pressure politics ahead of the 2024 general elections. Therefore, Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni, father of the main accused of violence Ashish Mishra Monu, has been targeted by the farmers. The center of the movement, this district is the last point of West UP and despite the effect of Tikait, the participation of the farmers of West UP was low on the first day itself. Most of the farmers have arrived here from Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. There is also a significant number of women from Punjab in the batches.

The strike will continue till Saturday. In the absence of toilets, Tikait has threatened that if the arrangement is not made, then he will shift this dharna at the district headquarters. Apart from Tikait, many leaders including Yogendra Yadav, Medha Patkar, Joginder Singh of Bhakiyu Ekta (Ugrahan) reached the stage. Sukhdev Singh Kokriklan, general secretary of Ekta Ugrahan, says that 2,000 farmers have arrived. On the other hand, BKU (Doaba) President Manjit Singh Rai claims that 10,000 farmers of Punjab have reached.
