Farmers erupted on Monday after fines were imposed on farmers for burning crop residue in Punjab’s Bathinda. The farmers reached the DC office with paddy straw and put straw arrows there. When the demand letter of the farmers was not taken by any officer, the farmers leaders pasted the demand letter at the gate of the secretariat. Also warned that if the challan of any farmer is deducted, he will intensify the movement.

On Monday, under the leadership of Kirti Kisan Union, farmers had gathered in large numbers at Ambedkar Park in Bathinda regarding the issue of stubble. On this occasion, Secretary of Jalha Bathinda Swaran Singh Puhli and District President Amarjit Honey expressed concern. He warned that if any farmer is fined, the organization will fight against it, which will be the responsibility of the district administration.

The farmer leaders demanded from the Punjab government that assistance should be given or the government should make arrangements to lift the straw. Help small farmers on priority basis. After the dharna, the farmers took out a march to the Mini Secretariat. A pile of straw was placed in front of the secretariat gate. Slogans were raised against the Punjab government.

It is noteworthy that the farmers had to give a warning letter to the district administration, but no officer came to collect the warning letter from the farmers, so the farmers hung the demand letter at the gate of the Mini Secretariat.
