Earthquake in Southeast Taiwan: South-East Taiwan has once again suffered a heavy earthquake. The intensity of this earthquake has been measured at 6.6 on the Richter Scale. An earthquake of magnitude 6.6 was reported by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) near the city of Taitung in southwest Taiwan. The USGS said the quake struck about 50 kilometers (30 mi) north of the coastal city of Taitung just after 9:30 p.m. (1330 GMT). Local media initially reported no casualties or damage from the quake. Taiwan’s Central Weather Bureau put the magnitude at 6.4.
Earthquake tremors coming in Taiwan
