Drug smuggler arrested by STF.
STF team caught a youth with heroin in Ludhiana, Punjab. STF DSP Davinder Chaudhary and SHO Harbans Singh said that the accused arrested is a gym trainer. The accused was delivering drugs to the youth under the guise of gym.
The team recovered 2 kg, 800 grams of heroin from the accused gym trainer. The accused was identified as Jaspal Singh alias Deep resident of Kot Mangal Gali No. 35. Jaspal Singh used to keep heroin in a laptop bag kept under the driver’s seat of the Swift car.
The STF has also recovered an electronic stick and 40 transparent plastic pouches from the possession of the smuggler during the raid. Police have registered a case against the accused.
DSP Davinder Chaudhary said that Jaspal Singh alias Deep was living in a rented house in New Amar Nagar area of Kartar Chowk these days. Inspector Harbans Singh had received a tip-off on Monday morning that the accused smuggled drugs in his Swift car.
It was reported that even today he is sitting in the car outside his rented house. Based on the information, the STF raided and nabbed the accused. The accused told the police during interrogation that earlier he used to work as a trainer in Varna of gym in village Gill.
He lost his job after the lockdown. During that time he started taking heroin. He started selling heroin to make ends meet. Two cases of drug smuggling and assault are registered against the accused earlier. Davinder Chaudhary said that many important revelations are likely to be made in the interrogation of the accused. Remand will be obtained by presenting the accused in the court.
