CM Manohar Lal has given a beautiful gift to the industries of Haryana on Diwali. Haryana government has decided to give 50 percent rebate in Value Addition Tax (VAT) to those industrial units in the state, which will meet their energy requirement from natural gas instead of diesel-powered generator sets.

This scheme will be applicable to entire industries including MSMEs and will be effective for 2 years from the date of its notification. This decision was taken in the meeting of the Standing Finance Committee chaired by CM Manohar Lal. Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala was also present in the meeting.

164.64 crore subsidy every year

Under the Haryana Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy 2022, the committee has also approved to give subsidy of Rs 164.66 crore per year to the E-vehicle manufacturers under various items. The use of diesel-powered generator sets is banned in the state. Now the industries which will meet their energy requirement from CNG, PNG will get 50 percent exemption in VAT.

Haryana Government has set a phased target for the cities of Gurugram and Faridabad to adopt charging infrastructure to achieve 100% Electric Vehicles (EV), e-mobility in Model Electric Mobility (EM) cities.

This policy encourages R&D in educational or research institutions. Efforts will be made to convert the bus fleet owned by Haryana State Transport Undertakings to 100% electric buses or fuel cell vehicles or other non-fossil fuel based technologies by 2030.
