Not only do diyas light up on Diwali, but the distance between the hearts also gets erased by eating sweets together. The same distances were seen erasing between the security forces of India and Pakistan on the border today. The borders of both the countries opened in the afternoon. Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and officers and officials of Pak Rangers gathered on the zero line. This was the occasion when the soldiers of both the countries greeted each other on Diwali.

The soldiers of both the countries gathered on the zero line at the International Border Attari around 11 pm. BSF officer Jasbir Singh and other officers and soldiers along with him greeted the Pak Rangers on Diwali and gave sweets. Pak Rangers have also thanked BSF officers and jawans by giving sweets after this. BSF officer Jasbir Singh says that BSF is committed to maintain peace on the border. While happiness was given to Pak Rangers in the form of sweets from his side, Pak Rangers have also wished him well.

The distance between the two countries continues since 2019
India-Pakistan relations had soured after the Pulwama attack on 14 February 2019. The sweet exchange program that had been running for many years was discontinued after this date. After this, when the Corona period started, the borders were completely sealed, but from 2021, both the countries once again started the sweet exchange program, bypassing the bitterness.
