Coronavirus Cases In India: Corona cases are continuously increasing in the country. In the last 24 hours, 10,158 new cases of Kovid infection have been reported. According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday (April 13) morning, the daily positivity rate in India is 4.42 percent and the weekly rate is 4.02 percent.

The number of active patients in the country is 44 thousand 998, which is 0.10 percent of the total cases. The national rate of recovery of patients is 98.71 percent. The Health Department has claimed that there are adequate arrangements and ventilators in hospitals to deal with Kovid. Covid wards have been connected with oxygen. ABP News talked to Professor Dr. Suresh Kumar, Director of Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital about the increasing corona in children.

Dr. Suresh Kumar said that for the first time after 7-8 months, so many cases have come up in Delhi. We have 20 Covid patients admitted here, out of which 4 are children. Most of the children complain of sore throat along with fever. Two children have viral covid pneumonia, one child has vomiting and diarrhea. One child is only 18 days old.

What is covid pneumonia?

Dr. Suresh said that there are many types of pneumonia. Bacterial pneumonia is cured quickly. Kovid is caused by pneumonia virus. Due to this there is a shortage of oxygen. In these cases, a pediatric ICU is also required. Blood pressure also decreases due to covid pneumonia.

What is the condition of the children?

Dr. Suresh said that now we have put Kovid pneumonia infected children on oxygen support and their condition is stable, so far not a single child has died due to Kovid. He told that most of the children being admitted this time have throat problems. This time many children are also coming with problems like trouble in the eyes, which was not there in the earlier Kovid wave.

What is the reason for the increase in infection rate in children?

Dr. Suresh has not given complete vaccine to the children, so the infection is increasing in children. Describing the symptoms, he said that if there is a sore throat, pain in the stomach, vomiting-diarrhea or burning sensation in the eyes, then such children should be immediately tested for coronavirus. They are taking about 5-7 days for the children to recover. Children who have asthma are taking longer time to recover.
