Under the leadership of Nagendra Bahadur Singh, convenor of Purvanchal Chhatra Sangharsh Samiti in Ballia, hundreds of villagers demonstrated at the Deputy District Magistrate’s office in the local tehsil premises to save Rampur Numbri and other villages including Regahan, Chitwisaw from the erosion of Saryu river on Monday. After this, by handing over the leaflet to SDM Rajesh Kumar Gupta, he demanded immediate administrative cooperation and help to stop the harvesting.
Nagendra Bahadur Singh Jhunnu, convener of Purvanchal Chhatra Sangharsh Samiti, said that till date no proper arrangement has been made by the parties and the opposition to stop the erosion on the Saryu river. Due to which the identity of how many villages is on the verge of extinction. We will not sit silent till there is no proper arrangement for harvesting. Every year dozens of villages get submerged in floods. The river makes many houses its own. The cultivable land gets absorbed in the river. There is a problem of fodder for the animals. By drowning in the water of the flood, people get absorbed in the cheeks of time untimely, but till now no concrete arrangements have been made by anyone for protection from floods.
