Demands of roadways employees accepted in Punjab: investigation of suspended conductor case will be completed in 3 days, meeting held in CM’s office

On the orders of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, the Transport Department has accepted the major demands of Punjab Roadways, PUNBUS/PRTC Contract Workers Union. This decision was taken during the meeting held in CM’s office today.

The investigation against the suspended conductor Preetpal Singh in the meeting will be completed in 3 days in a time bound manner. The union demanded a time-bound inquiry into the matter, which has been accepted by the Punjab government. Similarly, the Director State Transport has also given consent to take stock of the transfers of the employees transferred from Ferozepur to Patti in 7 days as per the rules of the department. During the meeting, other pending demands of the state employees were also discussed and noted by the officials for further action.

The officials assured the delegation that the high-ranking officers of the state government would be apprised of the reasonable demands of the union. He said that these demands would be considered sympathetically. A meeting in this regard will be held again on 12 December 2022.

In the meeting, Additional Principal Secretary to CM Himanshu Jain and Director State Transport Amandeep Kaur spoke in detail with the union delegation. Punjab President Resham Singh, Shamsher Singh Dhillon, Harkesh Kumar, Jagtar Singh and Daljit Singh were present in the delegation.
