Delhi Police Arrest Mewat Gang Member: Delhi Police has got a big success regarding the infamous Mewat gang. Delhi Police has arrested Shahrukh Khan, a big henchman of the Mewat gang involved in looting and stealing. This miscreant is accused of breaking ATMs in Delhi and stealing money. Apart from this, Shahrukh had carried out similar thefts in Madhya Pradesh as well. Police have recovered two live cartridges and a semi-automatic pistol of .32 caliber from the arrested miscreant.
According to the Delhi Police, the gang members had carried out 5 cases of breaking ATMs in Delhi and Madhya Pradesh and had stolen cash worth Rs 87 lakh. In this case, the police has also arrested some other miscreants. The age of the arrested accused Shahrukh Khan has been told as 22 years. Which has been arrested by the team of Special Cell from Haryana’s Nuh.

The incidents of theft by breaking ATMs were continuously increasing in Delhi, for which Delhi Police had formed a special team to gather intelligence and identify the gangs involved in such crimes. This team gathered information and identified the members of a gang behind these crimes. After three months of efforts, on January 27, information was received about the arrival of an absconding gang member near Shaheed Jeet Singh Marg, Adhchini, New Delhi. After which a trap was laid to catch him. Shahrukh Khan was caught during the raid and a case was registered against him. At present, efforts are being made to expose the entire gang by interrogating the accused.

According to the police, the modus operandi of the gang members is to identify unsecured ATM booths in dimly lit and deserted areas. The accused used to do a complete recce of the surrounding area before attacking the ATM booth. To hide their identity, after entering the ATM booth, they used to sprinkle black paint on the CCTV cameras, then with the help of a gas cutter, they would open the ATM and take out the cash tray. The gang members used Creta, Scorpio with fake number plates to break ATMs in different parts of the country.
