Cow suffering from lumpi roaming in Cantonment area of Varanasi.
For the first time in Varanasi, a cow suffering from Lumpi virus has died. This cow belonged to Keshnath Yadav, a resident of Sikhdi village of Sewapuri in Varanasi. Apart from this, the good thing is that a cow has also been recovered in Rampur village of Araji Line development block area. So far 45 animals from Varanasi to Cholapur and 121 in Pindra have been found with lumpy symptoms. At the same time, symptoms of lumpy are also being seen in some stray animals, but there is no official count of them. In this way, there has been a stir among the administration officials due to the ill health of the cattle.
The people of the village and the livestock farmers have become worried and upset. According to Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. RK Singh, so far around 30,000 animals have been vaccinated in Varanasi. At the same time, the total district has received 50 thousand vaccine doses. Vaccination work is going on fast. Vaccination has started in Varanasi from 24 September.

Cholapur Veterinary Officer Dr Vijay Tripathi said that 45 animals are being treated here. A survey of 58 gram sabhas has been conducted here. Survey of 31 villages is yet to be done. Vaccination of animals is going on in this entire block. So far, 14832 animals have been vaccinated here. While the total target is to vaccinate 25000 animals. To prevent lumpi in Pindra, 14200 vaccine doses have been applied. About 15,000 animals are yet to be vaccinated.

- As soon as the disease is detected, immediately contact the nearest veterinary hospital.
- The animals which have become lumpy in the village are being kept away from others. The chances of reaching the flies and mosquitoes sitting on those animals are negligible.
- Start treatment as soon as you know the symptoms of the disease.
- The needles of sick animals should not be injected into other animals.
- Give green fodder to sick animals. So that his stomach is not empty.
