Corporation screws on illegal constructions in Jalandhar: Construction work stopped in Ganga Hospital, notice to shop owners in Mandi Phanton Ganj

In Jalandhar, Punjab, the Municipal Corporation is continuously tightening the noose on illegal construction. On Monday also, the team of the corporation has taken action against illegal construction at 2 places. The building branch of the corporation stopped the ongoing construction work in Ganga Hospital without passing the map.

Municipal officials say that the building was being constructed by the hospital management in the residential area on the back side of the hospital. They were asked to stop the construction work and show the copy of the map pass along with other documents. But the hospital management neither replied to the notice nor showed the documents.

In Jalandhar, the Municipal Corporation stopped the construction work of the Ganga Hospital.

Despite the non-receipt of the notice within the stipulated time and the continuation of the construction work, the building branch officials of the Municipal Corporation along with their team reached the back side of Ganga Hospital where the construction work was going on. The officials of the building branch asked for the pass map and other documents from the management of Ganga Hospital on the spot. But he could not show any document.

The managers of Ganga Hospital said that they have applied to the Municipal Corporation to get the map passed. But till now his map has not been passed by the corporation. On this, the officials of the corporation, while giving notice to the managers, asked them to stop the construction work with immediate effect till the map is passed. Management has stopped work for the time being.

Similarly, the municipal authorities have also sent notices to the owners of four shops built opposite the Central Bank in Mandi Phanton Ganj. Municipal corporation officials say that these shops have been built without getting the map passed. Notices were sent to them earlier also but the owners of the shops did not respond. Now again again the corporation has given notice and asked to give its reply in three days. The corporation said that if the reply is not received in three days, then further action will be taken.
