The dispute over the management of the historic Gurdwara village Kohali in Amritsar district of Punjab is increasing. A few days ago, some youths of the village were seen with swords in the Gurdwara Sahib, after which the district administration imposed Section 144 in the Gurdwara premises to stop the altercation and deployed police force in the village. At the same time, the managers of the local Gurdwara Sahib have accused the Aam Aadmi Party of capturing the light in-charge.

According to the information received, a few days ago some youths of the village came to the Gurudwara with swords and tried to take the management in their hands. The video of the capture went viral, in which the youth seen is a supporter of Aam Aadmi Party’s light in-charge Baldev Singh Miadian.

The police got the information and intervened at the right time to stop the quarrel from escalating. The district administration intervened and asked both the parties to sit and settle the matter, but seeing the issue not being resolved, the district administration has appointed the receiver Tehsildar of Gurdwara Sahib.

Local committee wants to give management to Baba Sucha Singh

The local committee had decided to hand over the management of Gurdwara Sahib to the people of Baba Sucha Singh Anandpur along with the Sarva-Committee. The local committee says that the Aam Aadmi Party’s light in-charge Baldev Singh Miyadiyan wants to capture Gurdwara Sahib. His supporters Jassa Aulakh and supporters had reached the Gurdwara Sahib with weapons.

On the other hand, Aam Aadmi Party’s light in-charge Baldev Singh Miadian denied the allegations of the local committee. He said that some people and sarpanch forcibly want to give the management of Gurdwara Sahib to Baba Sucha Singh, but the people of the village want to keep its management with them. They are being wrongly accused. Their effort is to maintain an atmosphere of peace in the Gurdwara Sahib and the village.
