Most of the people who were thrashed by AAP workers for protesting at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal’s roadshow in Himachal Pradesh were members of Punjab’s ETT TET pass teachers union. These people had come to meet Kejriwal in Solan after the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government in Punjab did not listen. Here, when these people tried to express their views during the road show, the workers of Aam Aadmi Party came down on the misbehavior.

Kamal Thakur, president of Punjab’s ETT-TET Pass Teachers Association, came forward after fighting in the roadshow and returning to Delhi after finishing Kejriwal’s speech midway. Kamal Thakur said that the kind of thrashing by the workers of Aam Aadmi Party with them is not tolerable under any circumstances.

Kamal Thakur said that during the Akali-BJP government in Punjab, in the year 2016, 4500 ETT-TET pass teachers were simultaneously recruited. After completing 6 years of service, the previous Congress government suddenly halved the salary of 180 of them. At the same time, after ending his 6-year job, fresh joining letters were handed over. Even after this, ETT-TET pass teachers completed their probation period.

Re-imposed 3 years probation

Kamal Thakur told that after this he was again imposed with 3 years of probation. During the assembly elections held in Punjab in February this year, Aam Aadmi Party leader Harpal Cheema had assured him of regularization which has not been fulfilled yet. Taking the same demand, he went to Delhi to meet AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, but Kejriwal did not even meet him. Police manhandled Kejriwal outside Kejriwal’s house in Delhi. Women teachers were abused.

Recently, he came to know that Arvind Kejriwal is coming to do a road show in Solan. On Thursday, he had come to meet Kejriwal with his demand. Here, when he tried to keep his point by waving the demand letter, the workers of the Aam Aadmi Party came down on the misbehavior.

In Shimla also protested 3 days ago

Meanwhile, some teachers of Punjab had also demonstrated against AAP three days ago at Ridge Maidan in Shimla under the banner of Punjab Teachers Association. The association alleges that more than 25 thousand seats of teachers and other staff are vacant in government schools of Punjab, which are not being recruited. Apart from this 40% posts of Education Officers, Block Primary Education Officers (BPEO) and School Teachers are vacant.

The Punjab Teachers Association says that repeated requests were made to the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government in Punjab for recruitment but to no avail. In the Ropar district of Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, many blocks are running without a primary education officer.
