Aam Aadmi Party’s cabinet minister Harpal Singh Cheema has given a complaint to the Punjab DGP against the accused of threatening party MLAs over phone and attempting horse-trading. Cheema held a press conference in this regard at his Chandigarh residence earlier on Wednesday morning and after that reached the DGP office along with the MLAs.
Cheema said that along with the complaint, he has also given other evidence, including audio recordings, to the DGP so that a case can be registered against the accused.
Cheema once again accused the BJP of threatening AAP MLAs and horse-trading. He said that BJP touts also contacted MLA Baljinder Kaur. Sheetal Angural, who was present with him in the press conference last day, was also later threatened by someone on the phone.
He said that the BJP was trying to topple the AAP’s government in Punjab through Operation Lotus, which proved unsuccessful in Delhi. In the states where the BJP was ousted, it wants to capture power by breaking the MLAs of other political parties and joining them in its own party. Cheema alleged that BJP is engaged in horse-trading work through its touts.
Cheema said that the BJP first tried to topple the AAP government in Delhi by arranging Rs 800 crore, but failed to break the MLAs of Punjab for Rs 25 crore under the Lotus operation. Describing all the MLAs of the party as corruption free and honest, Cheema said that even if the arrangement of Rs 2500 crore is made, no MLA of AAP is going to break.
Complained to DGP along with MLAs
Harpal Singh Cheema along with the MLAs reached the DGP office and complained to the DGP along with audio calls and other evidences. So that FIR can be registered in the matter. He was accompanied by Pushpinder Happy, Kuljinder Randhawa and ten other MLAs.
