CM Mann on Coronavirus: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday directed to set up a state-level Covid-19 control room. At the same time, he said that the government is ready to meet any challenge in view of the latest wave of coronavirus. CM Bhagwant Mann reviewed the government’s arrangements regarding Corona in Chandigarh. During this, he requested the public that corona virus Wear face masks in all educational institutions, government and private offices, indoor and outdoor public places to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
CM Bhagwant Mann further said that similarly the guidelines of Kovid-19 should be followed strictly. The CM asked the health department to ensure that anyone who has symptoms of Kovid-19 gets tested and follows the Kovid-19 protocol. He has also asked all the deputy commissioners to continuously review the arrangements in their respective districts. CM Mann said that the state has decided to set up a state-level Covid-19 control room to deal with any emergency.
CM Mann also asked people to take the second dose.
Apart from this, CM Bhagwant Mann said that all the hospitals, labs and collection centers conducting the Covid test will have to upload the details of the tests including positive and negative results on the COVA portal of the state government. He also said that those who did not take the second dose and booster dose of Covid vaccine should take it as soon as possible. The CM has asked the officials to ensure strict compliance of the government’s decision in this regard.
‘Positive rate less than 0.1 percent since two months’
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann further said that 2,10,80,032 samples have been taken so far and on an average 2,500 RT-PCR and RAT tests are being done daily. He told that this test is being done every Saturday and Sunday in sub-division hospitals. Bhagwant Mann Said that the average positivity rate in the last three weeks is 0.02 per cent and for the last two months the positivity rate is less than 0.1.
