The reason is that despite the meteorological department telling heavy rains, the clouds used to fly due to strong wind in the area. The department claims that this will not happen now. Automatic weather systems are being installed in Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana. At the same time, 2 weather radars will be installed in Himachal. It will give accurate weather information. From this it will be known whether clouds form in the mountains of Himachal or not, what is the speed of the clouds, what is the wind direction, whether there is a possibility of rain in the plains or not. Himachal Pradesh has 2 more weather radars. One will be ready in Mandi and one in Dalhousie. Both will be between the mountains. One radar is already in Kufri. Now their total number will be 3.

Radar in Mandi will be operational in September
According to the Meteorological Department, the work of radar in Mandi of Himachal Pradesh is in the final stage and it will be operational in September. Apart from this, the work of radar in Dalhousie is also about to start. These three weather radars have a range of 100 km, but they will be placed in a range of 70 km. The department is also installing 13 new automatic weather systems in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh for each corner report. There will be 8 automatic weather systems in Punjab, 4 in Haryana and 1 in Chandigarh. Teams of the Meteorological Department in all the three states are busy in the selection of sites. The department claims that with their preparation, it will be easier to monitor data online, see the current weather activity. Apart from this, fresh and accurate information of rain, wind and temperature will be available automatically. This system will directly benefit the farmers and tourists. Earlier there are 30 automatic weather systems in Punjab, 32 in Haryana and 2 in Chandigarh.

Punjab- Two automatic weather systems will be installed in Fazilka, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Sangrur and Malerkotla.

Haryana- 1-1 automatic weather system will be installed in Yamunanagar, Charkhi Dadri, Palwal and Gurgaon.

Chandigarh- It is proposed to install 1 automatic weather system.
