The way the fields are spewing smoke in Punjab, Punjab is also moving towards becoming a gas chamber. If the burning of stubble is not curbed, then a situation like a health emergency can arise here too. Pollution has spread so much in the environment that now even the air is not fit to breathe. The level of pollution in the air has also reached above 260 in many places in Punjab.
On the remote sensing system of Punjab Pollution Control Board, 2666 new cases of stubble burning in the fields have been registered. With these newly registered cases, the figure of stubble burning has reached 24146. The maximum number of stubble burning cases were again registered in Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s own district Sangrur.
In the case of stubble burning, the Chief Minister’s district is consistently coming first. According to the new data, farmers have set stubble on fire in 452 places in Sangrur. The Malwa region of Punjab has recorded the maximum number of cases of stubble burning. Today Bathinda has reached the second place in the case of stubble burning. In Bathinda, stubble is burnt in the fields at 336 places.
Whereas Firozpur is at third place in stubble burning with a figure of 269. There has been some reduction in the cases of stubble burning in Patiala. In Patiala, stubble has been burnt in 168 places in the fields as compared to 345 last yesterday. Barnala and Mansa have also registered maximum number of cases of stubble burning. In Barnala, 254 jug farms caught fire while in Mansa 205 cases were registered on the remote sensing system.
Apart from this, 119 cases have been registered in Ludhiana, Moga 180, Muktsar 155, Faridkot 130, Tarn Taran 103, Jalandhar 59, Fatehgarh Sahib 38, Kapurthala 49, Malerkotla 36, Fazilka 77, Amritsar 12, Rupnagar 11. Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur, SAS The least number of cases were reported on remote sensing system of stubble burning in Nagar and SBS Nagar. Hoshiarpur 4 cases have been registered on Remote Sensing System of setting farm stubble on fire, while 2 in Gurdaspur, 6 in SBS Nagar, and least one case of stubble burning in SAS Nagar.
