Chelsea and Barcelona remain in contention to sign Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard this summer.
The Frenchman was the subject of interest from the duo last summer, but the German champions decided to keep him.
Pavard has since enjoyed a consistent role with the Bavarian giants, but this has not ended the transfer speculation.
According to Sport1, Bayern are in talks over a new deal with Pavard but they are yet to find the breakthrough with him.
If the stand-off continues until the summer, the club are likely to sell him as his contract expires at the end of next season.
Both Chelsea and Barcelona are closely monitoring Pavard at the moment and there could be a bidding battle for his services.
The Blues have already bolstered their right-back department with Malo Gusto and they view Pavard as a centre-back option.
The Blaugrana, on the other hand, will likely guarantee him the right-back position. Manager Xavi is desperate for a new specialist.
