SS Bindra
The Punjab-Haryana High Court on Friday reserved the verdict after hearing both the sides on the anticipatory bail plea of Municipal Corporation MTP SS Bindra in connection with a dispute with businessmen in a hotel located in South City of Ludhiana. Earlier, on August 17, the district court of Ludhiana had rejected Bindra’s anticipatory bail plea. After this, Bindra challenged this decision in the High Court and sought bail to avoid arrest.
On the night of July 30, the police of Sarabha Nagar police station of Ludhiana had registered an FIR against SS Bindra and others under sections of the Arms Act, in connection with the assault on the hotel during the party. Describing himself as innocent, Bindra had said that he had no fault in the controversy.
On the contrary, on the demand of the bill on behalf of the businessmen, they were beaten up in the hotel, while they were made accused in this case. On the other hand, the counsel for the Punjab government said that on the day of the incident, Bindra and his sons had together assaulted the complainant and his associates who were partying in the hotel and threatened them with pistols.
