Italy PM Election 2022: The historic election for the new Prime Minister in Italy is going to be held on 25 September 2022. At present, the process of general election is going on here, for which the campaigning is in full swing. Georgia Meloni (45) of the right-wing Brothers of Italy party is leading the race for the post of PM. Meloni said it would be a “great honour” for her to be the first woman to lead the country.
In fact, ahead of next month’s PM election, Georgia Meloni’s party has topped the election. Meloni’s party is getting the support of 25 percent of the voters. His popularity has skyrocketed in two years. Meloni’s party is up against the Center Left Democratic Party, which is currently trailing.
Mario Draghi resigned in July
Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi resigned from his post in late July. He sent his resignation to President Sergio Matarella. The President accepted his resignation and asked him to continue in the post till the next PM is elected.
