Like every year, this time also a 21 feet effigy was prepared for Ravana Dahan. It was ready for combustion. However, it was illegally stopped by the police and the army.

Ravana combustion was done on behalf of Shripajawa Ramlila Committee at the Banyan Ghat ground in Meerapur in Prayagraj.

Neither the police nor any army officer had taken any permission for this event. The police gave a stern warning to the officials that if the effigy of Ravana is burnt here, then there will be an FIR against the officials concerned.

Office built on army land, shops removed

When the police asked Pradeep Pandey, the chairman of the committee, that you should show the permission of last year only, but he could not show it. On the occasion of the committee, the army personnel also vacated the open office and some shops from there.

Frustrated by this action of the police and the army, the chairman of the committee, Pradeep Pandey, said that he worships the Prime Minister, the President, the Chief Minister at the Sangam. Injustice has been done to them. He will complain to the Prime Minister, the President and the Defense Minister. This action is illegal. It will be opposed.
