Two FIRs have been registered against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh at Delhi’s Connaught Place police station on Friday night. The Delhi Police has registered a case against Brij Bhushan under the POCSO Act for sexually abusing a minor wrestler.

At the same time, the second FIR has been registered on the charges of sexual exploitation of other 6 female wrestlers. Exactly one hour later, when the players sat down to eat at the picket site, the police cut off the electricity there. Not only this, the water tankers standing there were also taken away. The police also shifted the public toilet from there to another place.

When Bajrang called ACP about this, he said do whatever you want, now it will happen. Also said that the case has been registered, now he should pick up the dharna from there. The police placed barricades around the picket site and put the players under house arrest. Media personnel were also removed from the spot. Only the players and a few supporters remained at the picket site. Those who were forced to spend the night in the dark without electricity.

On April 21, 7 female wrestlers including a minor had complained of sexual exploitation against Brij Bhushan. When the case was not registered, the wrestlers filed a petition in the Supreme Court. During the hearing here, the police had talked about registering a case against the WFI president.

During the hearing, senior advocate Kapil Sibal, on behalf of the wrestlers, said in the court – security should be provided to the women wrestlers and the retired judge should supervise the case. On this plea, the court has ordered the Delhi Police to provide security. The court has asked the police to file an affidavit by next Friday. It has to be told what steps he took. The next hearing will be on May 17.

Brij Bhushan said- I am ready to resign
On the other hand, WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh said in a conversation with news agency ANI on Friday evening that I have full faith in the judiciary. I am not running anywhere, I am in my house. I will cooperate with Delhi Police. Whatever is the decision of the Supreme Court, I will follow it. Earlier, Brij Bhushan Sharan had said that if the wrestlers protesting accept their resignation, then I will give it. But, I will not give as a criminal. Now they will say that their tenure is over, what will happen with their resignation. If these players get up from the dharna and go back home, do their practice, then I will send their resignation.
