The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested State Manager Vikas Chaudhary and Assistant Estate Officer Manoj Bansal of Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) red-handed for accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 in lieu of giving completion certificate of an industrial plot. .
The officials had demanded Rs 1.5 lakh from the complainant for the completion certificate. The complainant had already paid Rs 75,000 to the officials. The rest were constantly pressing for Rs 75,000. Distressed, the victim complained about this to the Anti-Corruption Bureau. On Wednesday, the ACB arrested both the officers by laying a trap. Both are being questioned.

Departmental sources said that HSIIDC had sent a notice to the entrepreneur for the completion certificate of an old industrial plot. On receiving the notice, when the entrepreneur approached the officials, he had demanded a bribe of three lakh rupees from them for giving the certificate. The deal was fixed for Rs 1.5 lakh. The officials had already taken Rs 75,000 from the entrepreneur. After that, the rest were pressing for Rs 75,000.
Even those close to the minister were not spared.
Upset with HSIIDC officials, the entrepreneur is said to have appointed Sector 8 resident Advocate PL Sharma as his lawyer and asked him to settle the matter. The advocate is said to be close to state Transport Minister Moolchand Sharma. He contacted HSIIDC State Manager Vikas Chaudhary on behalf of the entrepreneur and asked him to settle the matter. Sources said that the accused manager did not listen to the advocate and said that I am the owner here. Nothing can happen without my will.

Distressed by the harassment by the HSIIDC officials, Advocate PL Sharma approached the Anti Corruption Bureau and informed that the officials were demanding money for giving the completion certificate. While his client has already given 75 thousand rupees. If the remaining 75 thousand rupees are not given, there is a threat to cancel the plot. The planning team of ACB sent the advocate to the HSIIDC office IMT by paying Rs 50,000. When contacted State Manager Vikas Chaudhary, he sent it to Assistant Estate Officer Manoj Bansal. During this, the ACB had laid its trap. As soon as the advocate gave the bribe amount to Manoj Bansal, the ACB arrested him. It is being said that State Manager Vikas Chaudhary tried to escape but the ACB team nabbed him. ACB’s Additional SP Anil Kumar says that both the accused are being interrogated. On the other hand, according to the entrepreneurs, the accused State Manager was pressurizing hundreds of entrepreneurs by sending notices for completion certificates.
