Guwahati Double Murder: The police team of Assam’s Guwahati district has recovered parts of a person’s body. A senior officer gave this information. It is alleged that 32-year-old Amarjyoti Dey’s wife and her friends killed Amarjyoti Dey and his mother. After this, the neighbors took their dead bodies to Meghalaya and threw them into the ditch.
Remains of mother’s body found near Cherrapunji
A senior Guwahati police officer said that on February 19, the remains of the man’s mother’s body were found near Cherrapunji. In this ‘double murder’ case, with the help of the Meghalaya Police, a massive search operation was carried out in the valleys of the Khasi Hills on Dawki Road in Meghalaya to recover the remains of the dead body. The special team formed to investigate the case had taken the three arrested accused to Meghalaya on Tuesday morning to trace the remains of the body.
Both were murdered last year
A senior officer told about this whole matter on the condition of not making his name public. He said that we conducted a search operation at different places throughout the day, the result of which was positive and we found some parts of the person’s body. Amarjyoti Dey’s wife and two of her accomplices allegedly killed Amarjyoti Dey and his 62-year-old mother Shankari Dey in the month of July-August last year.
Main accused identified
The main accused has been identified as 32-year-old Bandana Kalita. Along with this, two of his close friends were identified as 32-year-old Dhanti Deka and 27-year-old Arup Deka. Bandana Kalita and Arup Deka were arrested from Guwahati and Dhanti Deka has been arrested from Tinsukia district.
