Terming the trust vote brought in the Punjab Assembly as unconstitutional, the Bharatiya Janata Party staged a sit-in protest against the Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab. BJP demonstrated against the unconstitutional act at Baba Sahib Dr. Bhim Ram Ambedkar Chowk, the architect of the Constitution. BJP leaders said that despite the governor’s no on trust vote, the government has insulted the constitutional post by showing its arrogance. Along with this, despite being in majority, by bringing a vote of confidence in the assembly, it has also violated the constitution.
BJP leaders said that with the kind of act done by the present Aam Aadmi Party government in the assembly, they have made it clear that they have no faith in the Indian Constitution. BJP State General Secretary Rajesh Bagha said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is not only the Chief Minister who lied to the Governor, but has failed miserably in performing his duty as Chief Minister.

He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has flouted the Constitution by allowing his rowdy MLAs to commit the most misbehavior in the House on September 27 in a brutal and unparliamentary manner. He said that the Bhagwant Mann government passed the trust vote by taking permission from the Hon’ble Governor to run the House by listing issues like electricity, GST and stubble burning. He also gave false information to the governor.
By doing this, the government has hurt the dignity of the Holy House. The people of Punjab have also been cheated by violating the Constitution by bringing the trust vote in an unconstitutional manner. He said that what is the need of bringing a trust vote to the Punjab government with 92 MLAs? BJP leaders said that Bhagwant Mann himself has been an MP for eight years, but no ruling party ever tried to stifle his voice. This has never happened before in the Punjab Assembly also. The unconstitutional action taken by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will record it as a dark day in the history of Punjab.
On this occasion, BJP State Spokesperson Mohinder Bhagat said that Punjab Government is doing new propaganda everyday to hide its failures. This time Sarabjit Singh Makkar, who contested from the Cantt assembly on a BJP ticket, said that the law and order in Punjab has completely deteriorated. Corruption is at its peak. Jalandhar District BJP President Sushil Sharma said that Bhagwant Mann is doing such gimmicks only to hide his failures. Because in the by-election held two months ago, the people had clearly told that the Aam Aadmi Party has lost its faith in the general public and this is the first time that a Chief Minister loses his seat even after a massive victory in the election. Such unconstitutional decisions are being taken to hide all these failures and divert the attention of the people.
