Bima Sugam Portal Benefits: The Indian insurance regulator IRDAI is continuously working to improve the ban stop portal Bima Sugam for the convenience of policyholders across the country. Through this, customers now get help in selling, buying, changing policies and redressal of any complaints. It works like a One Stop Platform for Insurance Portal for the policyholder. Talking on this matter, IRDAI Chairman Debashish Panda told PTI that this one stop portal of IRDAI can prove to be a game changer for the insurance field.
It can bring big changes like UPI across the country. Bima Sugam is such a shopping platform in which you can buy one of the different policies by paying and choosing the policy according to your need.
Quick settlement of policyholder’s claim
Giving information about the Insurance Sugam Portal, the Chairman of Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) said that now it will be made mandatory to enter the information of all policy holders on this portal. With this, now policy holders will now be able to make information, complaint or claim about their policy on the basis of policy number only.
The IRDAI chairman said that apart from policy holders, this portal can now be used by agents, web aggregators and other insurance mediators. On registering a complaint on this portal, companies will try to redress it at the earliest. With this, customers will be able to get better service.
How to buy the policy
IRDAI Chairman Debashish Panda said that customers can easily buy policies through this portal. For this, he can also take the help of a mediator. Apart from this, if he wants, he can also buy the product i.e. policy by contacting the direct company according to his need. Along with buying the policy, you also get a chance to choose the payment option along with buying the policy.
Now while buying a policy, you can easily complete the process of KYC on the portal itself. While creating this portal, IRDAI has taken full care of its privacy so that the information of the customers cannot be stolen. You can easily complete your KYC process by just entering the Aadhaar number and filling the OTP.
