The campaign was run by forming teams in different divisions, more power theft was caught in Ballabhgarh and Greater Faridabad area.
On Monday, on the orders of the headquarters, the Electricity Department launched a campaign against electricity theft in the district, in which 74 electricity thefts were caught in different areas. The department has imposed a fine of Rs 56.24 lakh. Maximum cases of power theft were found in Greater Faridabad and Ballabhgarh areas.
SE Naresh Kakkar of the Electricity Department said that on the orders of the headquarters, a campaign against power theft was launched simultaneously in the entire district on Monday. Division wise teams were formed for this. The campaign was started at 11 am but due to power cut in the middle, the campaign had to be stopped. He said that in the investigation conducted in Greater Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, Old Faridabad, NIT area, electricity theft was detected at 74 places.
Kakkar told that maximum power theft was detected in Greater Faridabad area. Theft of about 27.30 lakh was found here. Similarly, about 20 lakh electricity theft was detected in Ballabhgarh area, 5.11 lakh in Old Faridabad area, 3.83 lakh in NIT area and 9.20 lakh in Chhaysa area.
