Along with studies, Khalid’s interest has also been in political activism. He has been a student leader. According to the charge sheet of the Delhi riots, Tahir Hussain and Umar Khalid had created the initial role of the riots in Shaheen Bagh on January 8, 2020 itself. After this, on February 16-17, both made a plan to incite riots again.
At that time, these people had also planned that petrol and acid bombs can be used if needed. All preparations were being made to give a fierce form to the movement by collecting materials at different places. Umar Khalid was working to incite people by participating in protests against the CAA at more than two dozen places. During this, he also said anti-government and anti-national things. In several cases related to the riots, Umar Khalid was booked under UAPA and other sections of the IPC.
Sharjeel Imam and its role in Delhi riots
Sharjeel Imam is the son of JDU leader Akbar Imam. Kako is a resident of Bihar’s Jehanabad. Sharjeel Imam has been a student of Modern Indian History in Jawaharlal Nehru University. Sharjeel is also a graduate in Computer Science from IIT Mumbai. Delhi Police had arrested many people for the violence that broke out in Delhi after the NRCC-CAA agitation. One of which was also the name of JNU student Sharjeel Imam. According to the Delhi Police, when protests were taking place across the country regarding the Citizenship Act, Sharjeel Imam gave an emotional speech among the people of a particular community in Delhi’s Jamia area. Along with this, Sharjeel Imam is also accused of making provocative statements on social media. This viral video was supposed to incite the sentiments of Muslims. Police says that it was after these statements of Sharjeel Imam that riots took place in Delhi.
Tahir Hussain and its role in the Delhi riots
Tahir Hussain won the 2017 MCD elections on an (AAP) ticket, but in February 2020, Tahir Hussain was named as a conspirator in the communal riots against the Citizenship Amendment Act. After this, Aam Aadmi Party expelled Tahir Hussain from the party. Along with this, MCD terminated the membership of Tahir on 20 August 2020. In February 2020, there were riots in North-East Delhi. Tahir Hussain is accused of inciting and funding riots as well as many other allegations. Tahir Hussain told in his confession that after the removal of Article 370 in Kashmir, Khalid Saifi came to me and both of them started planning to do some big scandal.
Meanwhile, the decision of Ram Mandir also came and the CAA law also came. Now Tahir felt that the water has gone above his head. Tahir Hussain said, ‘We made a plan in the PFI office to do something in Delhi that will shake this government and the government will be forced to withdraw the anti-CAA law. That’s why Tahir cooperated in carrying out such a big riot in Delhi riots by collecting things ranging from money to bombs, bullets, gunpowder, petrol, glass etc. Tahir Hussain’s important role has also been told in the murder case of IB officer Ankit Sharma that took place in Chand Bagh area of Delhi on 25 February 2020.
Faizal Farooq’s role in Delhi riots
Disclosing in the report of the SIT probing the Delhi riots, it has been said that the mastermind of this violence is Faizal Farooq, the owner of Rajdhani Public School. The police have claimed that the violence took place under a larger conspiracy. Faizal Farooq was in contact with several leaders of Popular Front of India, Pinjra Tod Group, Nizamuddin Markaz, Jamia Coordination Committee and some religious leaders of Deoband just before the violence.
Faisal had also gone to Deoband just a day before the violence. The police have found evidence of this from his mobile. In the investigation of SIT, it was found that this whole conspiracy was done by Faizal Farooq. The miscreants came down and the DRP school was set on fire. School computers and expensive items were looted. These people also set fire to another building nearby, in which there was a sweet shop named Anil Sweets. Dilbar Negi, an employee of this shop also got trapped in the shop and was burnt alive.
delhi riots role of mohammed ansar
Mohammad Ansar who is a resident of Jahangirpuri. Ansar was born in Jahangirpuri itself. Although its family roots are connected to West Bengal. Arms Act case is going on on this. Five cases of betting are registered on this. Studied up to fourth grade, Ansar works as a scrap dealer. Ansar is one of the main conspirators of the Delhi riots. The list of his criminal history is long. The first seven FIRs are on Mohammad Ansar, out of which one is related to gambling, one for assault on government employees and one for causing harm to people. He is a history sheeter in the records of Delhi Police. Has always been under the supervision of the local police. All the seven cases going on against him are at the trial stage and he is on bail.
