The Delhi government has said that it will continue to provide free electricity to all in Delhi. Delhi Energy Minister Atishi on Monday said that the Kejriwal government has no plans to stop power subsidy for any consumer in the state. We are committed to provide 24 hours free power supply. There is not going to be any change in our electricity subsidy.
LG office is deliberately spreading misinformation about it. DERC vide letter dated 06 January 2023 to the Delhi Government withdrew its earlier advice to reduce power subsidy to consumers having connections of 5 KV or load above 3 KV.
After a detailed examination of various legal provisions of the Electricity Act 2003 and earlier judgments of the Supreme Court, DERC concluded that it had no legal basis or reason to advise the Delhi Government to withdraw subsidy for any category of consumers. No rights.

BSES is being benefited in the name of giving subsidy
