Big Alert for Earth: If you believe in things related to space, then there is important news for you. A huge asteroid twice the size of the Taj Mahal is coming towards Earth. Scientists have warned that today this asteroid may collide with the Earth. It is not known where this asteroid will hit. However, there is little chance that it will enter the Earth’s atmosphere. Still everyone is being alerted as a precaution.

2008 RW’s name

The name of this asteroid is 2008 RW. This huge space rock comes close to Earth only once in three or four years. Its latest flyby (closer to Earth’s orbit) is about to be closer than ever and it is set to crash into our orbit. It is set to enter our orbit at 1:50 a.m. on 13 September, and will travel at a speed of about 10 kilometers per second.

NASA put on watch list

It is coming from a distance of about 6.7 million kilometers from Earth, which is close enough to potentially be pulled by Earth’s gravitational pull. It is not yet clear where it could land if it hits Earth, but it will be so close that it has been placed on NASA’s watch list. The experts at The Sky explained: "Asteroid 2008 RW was discovered on September 02, 2008. "This near-Earth object belongs to the Apollo group. "It makes one revolution around the Sun in 1023 days.
