The Punjab Vigilance Bureau caught an ASI taking a bribe of Rs 4,000 as a part of the anti-corruption campaign in the state. ASI Narinder Singh was posted in the anti-electricity theft police station of PSPCL located at Verka. A complaint was given against Narinder Singh by Tarlochan Singh, who lives in the ninth population of Verka.

Vigilance Bureau officials informed that Tarlochan Singh had lodged a complaint. In which he told that ASI Narinder Singh is investigating the electricity theft case registered against him. In this case, the concerned court is demanding Rs 4 thousand to present the investigation report. After which the investigation was started.
ASI Narinder Singh implicated in the trap
Vigilance Bureau Amritsar formed a team after Tarlochan’s complaint. A trap was laid and government witnesses were also prepared. ASI Narinder Singh was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000 in the presence of government witnesses. Further action has been initiated against ASI Narinder Singh by registering a case in Amritsar SSP Vigilance Bureau.
