Mumbai crime: A case of rape with a 3-year-old girl has come to light from Panvel station in Navi Mumbai. After this, the Railway Police has arrested the accused, as well as the police is questioning him. Police said that clues about the incident have been found from the CCTV footage installed at the railway station.
The photographs of the accused were captured in the cameras installed at the station. On the basis of these photographs, the Panvel Railway Police has identified the accused as Mukesh Kumar Babu alias Khan Shah. After this he was arrested from Juinagar area. According to the Railway Police, the accused has confessed to his crime during interrogation.

Senior police inspector of Panvel Railway Police, Praveen Padvi said that in the CCTV footage, at around 3.47 am on March 2, a man was seen continuously moving here and there at the Panvel railway station. After some time, at around 4:07 in the second CCTV, the same person is seen secretly picking up a 3-year-old sleeping girl and running fast towards a deserted place. Actually this is the same accused, who raped a 3-year-old girl. His pictures were captured in the CCTV cameras installed at the station. On the basis of this, the Panvel Railway Police arrested the accused Mukesh Kumar Babu alias Khan Shah from Juinagar area. After this, the accused confessed his crime during interrogation.
Accused in remand of railway police
Senior police inspector Praveen Padvi further said that according to the police, the girl was sleeping with her parents at Panvel railway station. At 7 in the morning, the girl’s parents informed the police that their girl was lost somewhere. After this information, when the police started the investigation, they found the girl unconscious in the deserted area of the station premises. After this, she was confirmed to have been raped during treatment in the hospital. According to the police, the accused was following the girl and her parents from the train itself. At present, the police has arrested the accused.
