Not only green vegetables, the prices of pulses and rice have also increased. Till a few months back in Prayagraj, tur dal was being sold for Rs 100 to 105, but now it is Rs 115 to 120 per kg. Similarly, the price of gram dal, urad dal, masoor dal has also increased. Talking about vegetables, the price of tomato had come down to Rs 30 per kg, but now again Rs 50 per kg tomato is being sold in retail. Cauliflower is 40 to 50 rupees per piece. Bitter gourd and capsicum are 60 to 80 rupees per kg.

Satish Chandra Kesarwani, president of Allahabad Galla Oilseed Business Board, said that within the last one year, the prices of rice have increased significantly. Basmati rice was earlier priced at Rs 60 per kg, but now it has increased by Rs 20. With this, Basmati rice has now become 80 rupees per kg. Sharbati Basmati rice was Rs 45 per kg last year, which has now reached Rs 60 per kg. Similarly, open flour is being sold at Rs 40 per kg.
