New Zealand: An Indian-origin businessman’s store in New Zealand was attacked by a group of armed robbers who held a knife to the neck of an employee. Vape store owner Sidhu Naresh said his store in Hamilton, North Island, was targeted by four young offenders on Friday, according to a New Zealand newspaper.

The victim businessman told that my employees were forcibly forced to kneel and a knife was put on their neck. After this they destroyed the entire store. Also took all the cash kept in my neck. They were constantly threatening, due to which all our employees were scared. When they were looting, we could not say anything because our lives were in danger. He was looking very fierce. Before we could do anything, they looted and fled.  

People of Indian origin demonstrated after the murder 

Dairies across the country had closed their stores for two hours in protest demanding harsh punishment for the accused. A minute’s silence was also observed in support of Janak Patel outside Deputy Prime Minister Grant Robertson’s electoral office in Wellington. 

According to a report in the New Zealand Herald, protests started across the country at 12:30 pm on Monday. A large number of people gathered in front of Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern’s electoral office in Mount Albert, Auckland. During this, the protesters raised the slogan ‘Enough is Enough’ with placards in their hands. The protesters had written the message of ‘change the law’ on the placards.

Indian-origin man was stabbed 34 times 

Patel was stabbed not once or twice but 34 times. Patel died in the hospital during treatment. After this, the police arrested two accused within 48 hours. The accused were charged with murder and dacoity.
