US Midterm Elections 2022: US President Joe Biden called Wednesday a “good day for democracy” after a surprisingly strong performance in the mid-term election and praised the results. Biden also acknowledged voters’ frustration, but said an “overwhelming majority” of Americans supported his post-election economic agenda.
“I think it was a good day for democracy and I think it was a good day for America as well,” Biden told a White House news conference.
‘The election was somewhat disappointing’
On the other hand, it was a heavy night for former US President Donald Trump. He was hoping that his party would experience a wave of voters in this election, but it probably did not happen. However, he appeared ahead of the Democrats in the House of Representatives. In reference to the candidates that Trump personally supported, Trump said, “The election was somewhat disappointing in some ways, but from my personal point of view it was a huge victory – 219 wins and 16 losses.” Trump also said that no one has ever done better than this.
