In Mahoba district, a bribe of Rs 15,000 was taken from the material supplier in the name of approving the file and taking it forward. The in-charge ADO Panchayat posted in the block was arrested red handed by a seven-member team from Lucknow. Since the complaint of the victim, the anti-corruption team was already keeping an eye on the said officer and in the investigation it was also found that the officer was addicted to taking bribe. There was a stir in the block office as soon as the in-charge ADO Panchayat was arrested. This is the 13th government official in the district who has been arrested for taking bribe.

The intention of the Uttar Pradesh government is to curb bribery and corruption, but so far in Mahoba district itself, the Anti-Corruption Team has arrested 13 such officials who were doing bribery. This evening, ADO Panchayat Kamta Prasad Verma, posted in Jaitpur block of Kulpahar tehsil, was arrested by the Anti Corruption Team taking a bribe. It is said that for the interlocking work to be done under MNREGA in village Sugira, material supplier Krishnakant Tiwari, resident of the bypass of the city, had given bricks.

After this tender of four lakh rupees, despite being given interlocking bricks, the village development officer of Sugira village and ADO panchayat in-charge in Jaitpur block was demanding a bribe of Rs 15,000 in the name of file approval from the supplier. The aggrieved supplier was upset for the last twenty days. Due to which he complained of bribery and harassment of ADO Panchayat in-charge to the Anti-Corruption Team in Lucknow. Taking this matter seriously, the Anti-Corruption Organization also got an inquiry conducted by an Inspector level officer a few days ago, in which it was found that the said officer is addicted to taking bribe. The complaint of the victim is also true.

After which a seven-member team led by Inspector Noorulhuda of Anti-Corruption Team reached Mahoba today, where after informing Mahoba DM about the whole matter, it has taken action after reaching Jairpur block. The notes containing chemicals were given to the victim supplier Krishnakant Tiwari, who gave the bribe to the said in-charge ADO Panchayat, after which the anti-corruption team present on the spot arrested him red handed and also recovered the amount of the bribe. After this arrest, there was a stir in the block premises. Further action has been taken by bringing it to Mahoba city Kotwali.
The process of catching bribe officials one after the other is going on, but the bribery does not seem to be decreasing. So far this is the 13th officer in the district who has been arrested by the Anti Corruption Team.
