The mayor’s election in Delhi will be held on January 6. AAP got 134 seats and BJP got 104 seats in MCD elections of 250 seats.

In Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced the names for the mayor and deputy mayor. Shaili Oberoi will be the candidate for Mayor and Aale Mohammad Iqbal will be the candidate for Deputy Mayor. Ale Mohammad is the son of Shoaib Iqbal, MLA from Matia Mahal.

The election for this is to be held on January 6. AAP got 134 seats and BJP got 104 seats in MCD elections of 250 seats.

AAP has majority
273 members will vote in the Mayor’s election. A figure of 133 is needed for a majority. AAP has 134 councillors. Apart from this, there are also 3 Rajya Sabha MPs. In this election, 250 councilors along with 10 MPs (7 Lok Sabha MPs and 3 Rajya Sabha MPs), 13 assembly members will vote.

BJP will not participate in Mayor’s election
Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly and BJP leader Ramveer Singh Bidhuri has decided not to participate in the mayoral election. He said that AAP has a majority. He should make his mayor and deputy mayor. Along with this, he said that the promise made by AAP should be fulfilled as soon as possible.
