Today is the ninth day of the second phase of the budget session of Parliament. As soon as the House started on Thursday, there was an uproar. It is believed that even today there can be an uproar in both the Houses.

  • As soon as the proceedings started at 2 pm, the opposition started creating ruckus. Amid the uproar, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman introduced the Appropriation Bill 2023. Amidst uproar, the bill has been passed by the Lok Sabha without discussion.
  • After the reports were presented in the Lok Sabha, the Speaker asked to start the discussion under Rule 377. Opposition MPs started waving placards demanding JPC and started raising slogans. After which the proceedings were adjourned till 6 pm.
  • Proceedings resumed at 6 pm. PM Modi was also present in the House. In his presence, opposition MPs came to the well and started raising slogans on the Adani issue. After which the House had to be adjourned till Friday.

35 bills pending in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha
According to the bulletin received from Lok Sabha-Rajya Sabha, there are a total of 35 bills pending in the Parliament. Of these, 9 bills are to be introduced in the Lok Sabha and 26 in the Rajya Sabha. Bills are less likely to be discussed and passed in the first phase of the session. However, several important bills can be introduced in the second phase of the session.

Of the 26 bills pending in the Rajya Sabha, three have already been passed by the Lok Sabha.
