8 cases of dengue found in Gorakhpur: number of patients increased to 177, 10-year record broken

The number of dengue patients is increasing continuously in Gorakhpur. In the investigation conducted on Thursday, 8 infected patients of dengue have been found. Since then, the total number of patients has reached 177, which is the highest in 10 years. Of these, 6 patients are residents of municipal corporation and two patients from rural areas.

District Malaria Officer Agand Singh said, among the patients in whom dengue has been confirmed, an 18-year-old youth resident of Jungle Chawri of Khorabar has been found to be suffering from dengue. The young man was ill for a long time. Dengue has been confirmed in ELISA test.

Apart from this, a 37-year-old woman from Neenathapa Jharna Tola, 28-year-old woman from Ramjankinagar, 37-year-old man from Manas Bihar, 58 18-year-old man from Mohadpur have been found infected.

At the same time, an 11-year-old child from Rasulpur, a 22-year-old woman from Tiwaripur and a 38-year-old youth from Chauri Chaura have been found infected with dengue. All had symptoms of dengue along with fever. The report came positive after getting tested with the kit. After this, ELISA test of all was done for confirmation, where dengue has been confirmed.

Source reduction done at 32,716 locations
The District Malaria Officer said that in view of the ever-increasing dengue outbreak, notices have been given to 137 houses so far. Dengue larvae have been found in these houses. Also, source reduction has been done at 32,716 places.
