On receiving information about the trapped 6 people on the island in Lalitpur, the administration team gathered late in the night for the rescue.
Betwa river and Nyora Nala are in spate due to the torrential rains in the areas of Lalitpur and Madhya Pradesh for 24 hours. 6 people including two women are trapped in the island between the river and the drain.
The water is increasing due to continuous rain. Villagers including SDM, SHO have reached the spot after getting information about the farmers getting stuck on the island. Efforts have been started to rescue the farmers trapped on the island.
Villagers informed the administration
Tularam Rajput, his wife Rachna, Jahar Rajput, his wife Lakshmi and Rakesh Lodhi of Kisalwas had gone to harvest fodder in the fields situated between Nyor Nallah and Betwa river, located 4 km away from the village, on Sunday afternoon. When he returned at 5.30 pm, water was flowing from 10 feet above the Nyor drain. Because of this they got stuck on the island between the Betwa river and the drain. When the villagers came to know about this, they informed the administration.
NDRF called for rescue
On the spot, SDM Sadar Avesh Khan, SHO Jakhaura Ashok Kumar Verma, Tehsildar and Lekhpal reached the spot. They started efforts to rescue the farmers trapped in the island. Kisalwas village head Shishupal Lodhi told that 6 people are trapped in the island. Officers have reached the spot. NDRS team is being called to rescue the farmers trapped on the island.
