Its preparation has been completed. UP’s Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh informed that 51 lakh families of the state have been connected in Har Ghar Jal Diwali festival. On this day, people will be made aware to drink pure water by organizing cultural events in the panchayats. Voluntary organizations working from village to village will present a pot full of water to the Panchayat representatives on this day.

5 crore houses will be illuminated with diyas

The preparations for Jal Deepawali have been reviewed through a virtual conference. Under this preparation, the state will be illuminated with more than 5 crore lamps. If the lights of diyas in the houses twinkle, then the panchayat buildings will be decorated with colorful fringes. Sweets will be distributed, Rangoli will also be made. People would congratulate each other on reaching home with pure drinking water. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the supply of drinking water has been started by laying pipelines in the Gram Panchayats. In such villages, Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply Department have made preparations to celebrate Water Diwali on October 20. The department is going to fulfill the target of connecting 51 lakh families across the state with pure drinking water. Officials are working to complete it.

According to departmental information, so far 50,58,783 rural families have been provided with pure drinking water from taps. The target of connecting more than 51 lakh families with water supply is being fulfilled. In the schemes of the central and state governments, work is being done to provide pure drinking water to the poor, farmers and the needy. Bundelkhand including some districts of Purvanchal is going to get the benefit of this scheme.
